RHAPSODY OF REALITIES TEEVO

FRIDAY 17

THEME: DOUBLE-CHECK WITH GOD

👤 PASTOR CHRIS

TO THE BIBLE 📖: 1 John 4:1 MSG
“My dear friends, don’t believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are a lot of lying preachers loose in the world.”

LET'S TALK 🗣️
The Scripture in Romans 13:1 says, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Some people misunderstand this for a pass to follow instructions from any one with some form of authority. They’d say, “He’s a renowned leader; therefore, he must be speaking the truth,” but that’s not how it works.

Our opening verse means you don’t just run with or do whatever you’re told by just anybody; examine where that authority is coming from. It could be from Satan. So, you have to be careful. God can choose a leader, and the leader can still go against the will of God.

The Scripture is full of examples of people who went against God, even though they were chosen by God. For example, in 1 Samuel 15, Saul was going to war against Amalek and was instructed to destroy everything. He did as was asked, but he spared Agog the king, he also spared the sheep, oxen and everything else he thought was good.

What was God’s response? He said to Samuel the prophet, “I regret making Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not performed My commands…” (1 Samuel 15:11 AMPC).

Just because you liked what someone of authority told you doesn’t mean it was from God. Always remember that God’s Word is the supreme authority by which we judge all things. Always weigh and double-check what you hear with the Word!

Dear Father, I consciously weigh every instruction against the truth of the Word, irrespective of who gives it. My steps are ordered by you, through the Word and your Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER Rev Chris Oyakhilome Dsc DD How to pray: 1. Pray for all men declaring that this is the day of salvation and grace 2 Cor 6:1-2, 2 Cor 4:4. Acts 26:18 We have to break the power of Satan off of their minds. So those who have difficulty believing can believe. 2.  Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send forth labourers into the harvest fields of leaders of nations and governments. Luke 10:1-2. They are in contact with people all the time so God has to guide somebody to bring the gospel to them. 3. Pray that the Lordlord will change the mind of leaders from foolishness and deception to truth. This is so important.  Proverbs 21:1 Most times we want to pray OUT certain government or leader and pray IN someone else. God doesn't want us to do that  Think how many times you have been disappointed through the years from someone whom you favored.  A lot of times, they turned out to be anti God or anti Christ. They were against the things you were for in righteousness....
